AMS Is Centennial Awardee


Aklan Medical Society (AMS) went home with five awards for the year 2006 – 2007. The awards are given during the 100th Philippine Medical Association Convention held at EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, Metro, Manila last month.
The AMS was represented to the convention by its president, Dr. Cynthia Dela Cruz. Other members of the Aklan delegation were: Dr. Emmette L. Custodio, Dr. Merlita C. Bautista, Dr. Beatriz T. Yasa-Diel, Dr. Christine Lane T. Yanguas-Yu, Dr. Rosito Yu, Jr., Dr. Myrtle Pelayo, Dr. Floriphez L. Yerro and Dr. Athena Magdamit.
Upon their return to Aklan, they were feted by Governor Carlito S. Marquez for bringing honor and prestige to the province of Aklan last week.
Dubbed as centennial awardees, they are Dr. Cynthia Dela Cruz, Dr. Christine Lane T. Yanguas-Yu, Dr. Merlita C. Bautista, and AMS as Most Outstanding Component Medical Society and Most Active Component Society in Environmental and Sanitation Projects. /MP
