The International flight from Incheon, South Korea to Kalibo, Aklan and vice versa is progressing. The flight on May 25, 2007 was its 6th time since its maiden flight on May 11, 2007. Base on flight schedule for MD- 82 plane, it shows that flight from ICN – KLO – ICN including CLARK and DAVAO are continuing regular scheduled flight.
According to Mr. Percy Malonesio, Manager of the Air Transportation Office in Kalibo, Aklan, there are two new airlines that will join Asian Spirit in the Korea- Kalibo flights. The Pacific Pearl Airways and Global Airways will start their schedule of flights in June 2007. According to reliable source, the Philippine Airlines will also start its Korea – Kalibo flight in July 2007.
Asked how does Air Transportation Office (ATO) spent the terminal fee being paid by departing passengers, Malonesio disclosed that ATO does not receive any amount of money from the P20.00 terminal fee. Including the rental of the stalls in the airport, the amount is directly remitted to the Bureau of Treasury, every month.
Malonesio also clarified that the constructed outdoor terminal sheds with cigarette and liquor advertisements were paid for by the cigarette and liquor companies and without cost to the ATO Kalibo. However, in return, the ATO also allows these cigarette and liquor manufacturers to advertise their products at no cost. /MP

Sheds liquor and cigarettes manufacturers constructed in the Kalibo Airport, Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan. ATO paid nothing for the construction but the sheds are serving as outdoor advertisements which are for free. /MP
