“Shut The Fuck Up”

The EF in his column “Demolish Bandstand At Banga Town Plaza?” elicited three (3) reactions from his readers. These are the three reactions or comments left in EF’s e-mail:
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post “Entrepreneurial Farmer”:

Why don’t you go and speak at the bandstand yourself and be heard. Not many people have internet in Banga yet, instead of ranting and making a lot of fuss out of it. Have you actually seen the plan? No? Then shut the fuck up!! Use your head, then your mouth (fingers).

Anonymous, have you seen the plan? No? Then shut the fuck up too!!!

Anonymous, you missed the point. This article is not for those in Banga. It is for those Banganhons outside and most probably have Internet access. Count your marbles before you pee!

As EF reads the comments from the three anonymous sources, he smiled reading the refined statements using good terms. Mr./Mrs. Anonymous wished the author to stop making noise when he/she stated: “Not many people have internet in Banga yet, instead of ranting and making a lot of fuss out of it.” Further, he/she stated, “Then shut the fuck up.”
The third anonymous also stated: “Count your marbles before you pee!” Pee is to urinate.
To the senders, thank you very much for sending me your reactions with a very well chosen terms.
The reaction of Mayor Antonio T. Maming will be published next issue.

Development

By all means, the leaders of Banga LGU should institute development and progress and rapidly if possible. Sure, EF has not seen the plan of the proposed development of Banga Town Plaza. EF will appreciate it very much if he is spared a copy for discussion and improvement for the leaders’ consideration. EF wrote that article on Banga Town Plaza last week as some Banganhons informed him of the proposed project to be done on Banga Town Plaza. They wished to see the project plan and be assured that any change therein will preserve the historical and cultural values of the plaza.
This proposed renewal in Banga Town Plaza is geared for the good of the town, I supposed. However, better still if discussed with the community leaders to get their support.

Longest Commercial Ads

The Philippines is suffering from the heavy commercial advertisement. It has the longest commercial load of 20 minutes per hour. This is revealed in a global study. Compared to other countries in Asia and Europe which average to only 12 minutes, the Philippines TV programs are most crowded with commercials.
In the United States, there is only an average of 16 minutes commercial per 60 minutes TV program. And still the Americans are getting turned off. This is the reason why the use of TiVO is increasing. This is a TV recorder that can skip commercials. Pay per view is also selling like hot cakes for boxing championship games because of more commercials.
This heavy TV commercial load was glaringly exhibited during the boxing championship games on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City where some Filipino boxers like Boom Boom Bautista, Bazooka Banal and other Filipino boxers won their respective fights. All the fights actually ended at about 2:20 in the afternoon. However, the fights as shown through ABC TV ended just before 5:00 in the afternoon because of heavy commercial load.
Actually, almost all TV programs in the Philippines are bombardments to Filipino consumers so that Filipinos will buy all they can, eat all they can, drink all they can and shop till they drop. There is even commercial that induces listeners to fly now at P1 exclusive of taxes and other fees.

Biggest Super Markets

At the rate Filipinos are spending, records show that the Philippines’ private consumption expenditures constitute 70 percent, the biggest elements of the nation’s gross domestic products (GDP).
According to Mr. John Gokongwei, “we are a nation that produces nothing and consumes everything.” He likened China to a “superfactory of the world” and the Philippines to be “the supermarket of the world.” Can we argue against Gokongwei’s opinion? Very hard as we claim we have the “biggest Mall of Asia”.

More of Producers

We need to spend less, lesser than our income and save more. We must be more of producers and not just consumers. /MP
