Mosaic Making Contest

In support to this year’s World Food Day (WFD) celebration on October 16, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 6, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization and Department of Education, will conduct the on-the-spot Mosaic Making Contest on October 1 at DA Conference Room, Operations Building, Doña Pepita Aquino Ave., Iloilo City. 

This competition is open to all grades IV to VI pupils from both public and private elementary schools in Western Visayas. 

In consonance to the United Nation’s declaration of 2014 as the International Year of Family Farming, this year’s theme is“Family Farming: Feeding the World, Caring for the Earth.” This is to highlight the significance of family farming to improve global food security and to reduce poverty incidence. 

All creations shall be made original on the contest date and shall depict the said theme. The criteria for judging will include: originality-20 percent, visual impact-20 percent, creative use of agriculture and fishery products-30 percent and relevance to the theme-30 percent. 

The DA RFO 6 will award P3,000 cash to the top winner who will represent the region with his/her coach to the national level on October 10 at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management, Diliman, Quezon City.
