TRUCKLOADS OF IMPORTED MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR ILOILO PUBLIC HOSPITALS

TRUCKLOADS OF IMPORTED MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR ILOILO PUBLIC OSPITALS

Thousands of patients in three (3) public hospitals in Iloilo province are now benefiting from truckloads of medical supplies and apparatuses from AAMBIS-Owa Party-list and a non-government organization distributed last March.

The distribution of supplies was made possible by AAMBIS-Owa Party-list Representative Sharon S. Garin in partnership with NGO Children International Philippines, Inc. (CIPI).

The donations are imported by CIPI from the United States through the initiative of Rep. Garin who also takes care of the logistics to make the medical supply accessible to the hospitals.

The three (3) public hospitals which received donations were Aleosan District Hospital in Alimodian, San Joaquin Mother and Child Hospital in San Joaquin, and Rep. Pedro Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal.

The examples of supplies given to the hospitals were Pediatric Resuscitator, Airlife Vergo Airway Adapter, Misty Mason Aerosol Adapter, Ultra Seal Anesthesia Face mask with Valve, Respiratory Care Systems, Hygroscopic Condenser Humidifier, Hepa Filler, and Airlife T-adapter. These are supplies most used in emergency and hospital rooms.

Rep. Garin and CIPI have been partners in providing assistance for the people of Western Visayas since 2012. Apart from these medical supplies, AAMBIS-Owa and CIPI have been in tandem in providing hundreds of thousands of imported books to mostly impoverished students in the Visayas.

Aleosan District Hospital Chief Dr. Paz Calopiz appreciates the donation for their primary hospital. “These medical supplies supplement the effort made by the national government to provide free quality health care to our people. These donations help us doctors and staffs provide initial treatment for cases that require immediate treatment for prevalent diseases in the area.”

Rep. Garin thanks the CIPI for this collaboration and the Department of Health officials for their cooperation in ensuring that the medical supplies are properly stored and will be used by as many patients as possible. /MP
