PROUD AWARDEE. Dr. Allen S. Quimpo, president of the NVC, beams with pride as he presents his Certificates of Recognition given by the DENR to the Kalibo Save the Mangrove Association (KASAMA) for being “adjudged the Best People’s Organization (Coastal Rehabilitation Category), Brgy. New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan” and for  “showcasing at the local, national and international levels the sustainable mangrove forest management covering a total of 140 hectares for ecotourism, livelihood development, research and extension purposes in their capacity as CBFM People’s Organization. Quimpo chairs the Kasama, an NGO in Kalibo, Aklan. The awards were given on June 30, 2015 during the culmination program of the celebration of the Environment Month 2015 with the theme: Seven Billion Dreams, One Planet, Consume with Care,” at the DENR, Region VI Courtyard, P.
