"Since the time I attended Alay Lakad in 1995, this Alay Lakad 2006 is the well attended and best organized," declared Congressman Joeben T. Miraflores in his message to the Alay Lakad participants today, September 8. Miraflores congratulated this year’s sponsor the Rotary Club of Kalibo and co-sponsor Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo which presidents are Gus Solmirano and Rose Rutsch respectively.
Governor Carlito S. Marquez articulated the rationale of the annual Alay Lakad. He thanked all those who participated in the affair and challenged them to duplicate it again next year.
Kalibo Mayor Raymar A. Rebaldo welcomed the participants from all barangays of Kalibo, civic clubs, the police and military, schools, colleges and university, national, provincial and municipal offices.
One of the highlights of Alay Lakad 2006 is the holding of raffle. The first prize of P5,000 cash was won by Ms. Wilma M. Enriquez, second prize of P3,000.00 Diosel P. Piral and the third prize of P2,000 by Winelia Ecoranga.
