BONGBONG TO PALACE ON PURISIMA: WE CAN’T LEAVE HIM ALONE

BONGBONG TO PALACE ON PURISIMA:
WE CAN’T LEAVE HIM ALONE

Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” R Marcos Jr. is not about to give Gen Alan Purisima a break and hinted that the death of the 44 Special Action Force members will continue to hound him as his worst nightmare.

This developed even as Malacañang quickly came to the defense of Purisima which reportedly urged Marcos to “leave Purisima alone.”

“Anong leave Purisima alone?...He is answerable to the families of the SAF 44 and all of his own policemen kung ano ang ginawa niyang kapalpakan sa ‘Oplan Exodus’ kayat namatay ang 44 na pulis sa Mamasapano (Maguindanao),” Marcos said in an interview over radio dzRH.

Purisima, after serving a 6-month preventive suspension slapped by the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with a plunder case, was supposed to return to active duty on Monday, June 15 but opted to file a leave of absence instead.

Marcos on Tuesday, June 9 delivered a privilege speech urging President Benigno Aquino III to fire and charge Purisima for the death of the SAF 44 in Mamasapano, Mindanao last Jaunary 25.
In his speech, Marcos had said that the families orphaned by the SAF 44 are asking for nothing else but justice.

“Paano natin sasabihin na nag bigay tayo ng katarungan kung iyung isa sa pinaka responsible sa pagkamatay ng kanilang ama, ng kanilang kapatid, ng kanilang anak, ay walang pananagutan. Leave him alone? No, we cannot leave him alone,” he said referring to Purisima.

Marcos also said Purisima’s “kapit-tuko” to his 4-star general rank has been causing the disarray of the PNP chain of command structure.

‘Yung kanyang pagka-kapit-tuko sa kanyang pagiging 4-star general ang siyang nagiging sagabal sa pag-organize ng command structure ng PNP… Palagay ko siya ang nagiging harang sa pag-appoint ng permanent Chief-PNP, he said. /MP
