The performance of the job of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) 2007 - 2010 started with the atmosphere of mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation. Presided by Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo, the inaugural session started with the invocation led by Rev. Fr. Jose Gualberto I. Villasis and followed by the singing of the Philippines National Anthem.
Gov. Carlito S. Marquez gave his message which set the tone of the executive -legislative program for the next three years.
In her message, Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo disclosed her legislative policy and program as presiding officer of the SP. She gave tribute to former vice governor Ronquillo C. Tolentino who used to be her teacher in the high school. She also recognized Tolentino as her mentor in politics when she ran for SP member in 1998 and for congress-woman for the lone district of Aklan in 2001 which Calizo all won.
The SP did not act on any business in the agenda as the members discussed first in their executive session the internal rules of procedure. /MP
