“My dream is to inspire more Filipino youth achieve their aspirations and help those poor children but deserving, “quoted from Nikko Angelo L. Dela Rosa, one of the 30 Eat Bulaga’s Excellent Student (EBEST) Awardees.
Nikko, a valedictorian of the Regional Science High School for Region VI, S.Y. 2012-2013 is truly an outstanding achiever. He was the school’s Supreme Student Government President, Division Federation of Supreme Student Government Officers President, Regional Federation of Supreme Student Government Officers – Auditor, Editor In Chief of Pahayagang Iskolar, RSHS-VI Filipino publication, Golden Pen Outstanding Journalist and PIA’s IWAG Awardee.
Nikko won in various contests in the provincial, regional and national levels. Among his many awards are 1st place in feature writing and news writing in the 2012 Journalism Writeshop and Carlito S. Marquez Golden Pen Awards; 1st Place in Physical Science, Team Category and 1st Place Best Presenter during the 16th Regional Science and Technology Fair; 1st Place in Editorial Writing in the DSPC; 1st Place in Editorial Writing (Filipino) during the RSPC; and 1st Place in the 3rd Interschool Science Wizard Tournament.
His journey as an EBEST scholar started on April 28, 2009 when he was selected for exemplary performance in academics and in various school co-curricular activities.
On April 13, 2013, Eat Bulaga featured all the 30 Most Outstanding Student. EBEST will continue their scholarship up to college and they will be provided a monthly allowance. Added to that, they are given each a netbook to aid them in their studies.
Nikko’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Y. Dela Rosa. Sure they are very happy for having a son who dreams of providing a good life for his family, a student who always excel and influence others, and a person who remains humble amidst all his accomplishments. /MP
