The Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Aklan assessed 32 Horticulture students and 4 teachers of Libacao National Forestry Vocational High School (LNFVHS) on April 16-19, 2013.
The assessment was pushed through the efforts of Mr. Marino B. Sarrida, an assessor from TESDA – Siquijor in cooperation with TESDA-Aklan.
The competency assessment was based on how the aspirants understand the concepts governing Horticulture and how they would practice their knowledge through actual performance. In actual test, they performed asexual methods of plant propagation such as grafting and marcotting, and the use of seed.
With the help extended by LNFVHS Horticulture enthusiasts, Mr. Noel T. Retolado, and Mrs. Sally B. Casibo, and the 36 aspirants for the National Certificate II (Horticulture) passed the said assessment. The background knowledge gained by students and teachers of LNFVHS has also helped them pass the assessment. /MP
