To ensure smooth transition and sustain DAR Aklan’s commitments to its clientele, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Eberardo N. Erispe turned over the management of DAR Aklan to Manuel A. Velasco, incoming Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) just recently.
Before his assignment to Aklan, Velasco, a former Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer I since 1999 was assigned at Negros Occidental. He is a Career Executive Officer, and a Career Executive Service Eligible. In his assumption, he challenged all DAR Aklan employees to work with the catch up plans to meet the targets for this year. “As liberal manager, I encourage everyone to participate in making CARP work for Aklan especially for the agrarian reform beneficiaries”, he enthuses. “Participatory approach is essential as we learn from each other and everyone can contribute to make the program work.”
Velasco is married and has three children. He served as Professor in various Universities in Iloilo and Negros and a former Project Manager of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement in Negros. /MP
