Atty. Diego M. Luces, Provincial Administrator of Aklan opens the second provincial summit on peace and order while the participants listen. He also delivered the prepared messages of Vice Gov. Gabrielle V. Calizo and Gov. Carlito S. Marquez.
The 2nd Provincial Summit on Peace and Order opens today (December 13) in Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Memorial Tourism & Training Center, Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan with Police Deputy Director General Jesus A. Versoza of the Philippine National Police as keynote speaker. He was introduced by PSSUP Benigno B. Durana, Jr., PNP provincial director of Aklan.
The provincial peace and order summit, among others, aims to: 1. evaluate the accomplishments of the Five Pillars of the Criminal Justice System; 2. establish for the next three years (2008 – 2010) the vision, mission and objectives, strategic policy and program directions in public order and safety within the criminal justice system; 3. adopt a three years Integrated Area Community Public safety Plan to enhance and sustain a partnership between government and the public in the promotion of public safety and order; and 4. develop and adopt an Information – Education Community Plan to promote test methods for improvement of peace and order, safety and to protect the corresponding advances and success up to the barangays.
Atty. Diego M. Luces who represented Gov. Carlito S. Marquez and Vice Gov. Gabrielle V. Calizo declared the Summit open. He gave their messages. SB member Greg Malapad represented Kalibo Mayor Raymar A. Rebaldo who welcomed the participants and guests in behalf of the town of Kalibo.
Session I included the talk on Peace and Order Situation in Aklan by Police Provincial Deputy Director Decena; Internal Security Operations by LTC Nicolas V. Pasion; Human Security Act of 2007 by Atty. Jose H. Niego; Salient Provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 by P/Supt. Roybel M. Sanchez; and the Role of DILG in the Formulation/Implementation of the Integrated Area Community Public Safety Plan by Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda. Open Forum followed after their presentations.
Session II dealt with the keynote speech of Police Director General Avelino Razon represented by PDDG Jesus Ame Verzosa.
Session III was workshop on the Integrated Area Community Public Safety Plan. /MP
