The Sangguniang Panlalawigan under the stewardship of Vice Governor and Presiding Officer Gabrielle V. Calizo Quimpo facilitated the election of officers of the Aklan SP Press Corps for 2013-2016. It was held on August 9, 2013 at the office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Kalibo, Aklan.
The SP Press Corps is composed of media practitioners covering the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP). It aims to provide a forum for the widest, relevant and accurate information dissemination and establish close rapport among media practitioners covering SP events as well as pursue projects and activities to uplift the welfare and interest of its members.
During the last six years, the Office of the Aklan SP through the Vice Governor had expressed its closeness and concern to media practitioners in Aklan by way of providing them easy coverage access to the programs, projects and activities of the SP.
The results of the election are as follows: President – Gary Vargas, Kalibo Cable and Love Radio, Vice President for Print–Jun Ariolo N. Aguirre (GMA News TV); Vice President for Radio–Mr. Rolly Herrera, IBC DYRG; Vice President for Cable–Mr. Noel Tallafer, Kalibo Cable; Secretary General/Treasurer–Ms. Aiza Mana-ay, Explorer; Asst. Secretary/Treasurer– Mr. Arnel Vicente, Radyo Bandilyo; Chairman, Board of Directors–Mr. Ernesto Solidum, Madyaas Pen.
Members, Board of Directors are: Ronaldo Teodosio, Kalibo Cable; Mark Reyes, Explorer; Jomar Teñoso, Bay Radio; Andrew Navarra, RGMA-DYRU; Recto Vidal, Boracay Informer; Ernan Baldomero, Panay News; Sherry Ann Reunir, Bombo Radyo; Archie Hilario, Bay Radio and Conrad Indelible, RGMA-DYRU.
