The National Statistics Office (NSO) in Aklan is in the process of updating Aklan’s list of establishments. The updating started on May 2, 2012 until June 16, 2012.
Dubbed as the “2012 Updating List of Establishments (ULE)”, the list when completed will serve as sampling frame for the succeeding census and survey of establishments and enterprises, particularly the 2012 Census of Philippine Business and Industry.
Some eight (8) statistical researchers and interviewers are hired to complement the regular NSO field personnel to conduct door-to-door listing and interview of some 2,000 establish-ments in 152 barangays comprising those not covered in 2011 ULE.
According to Mrs. Rodelyn R. Panadero, Statistician II of NSO, “statistics derived from ULE will serve as basis in the formulation of policy and program of government, monitoring of trade and industry development, preparation of marketing plans and prospects, identifying outlets for products of establishments, and for research studies”.
Mr. Blas M. Solidum, Provincial Statistics Officer, appeals to both national and local government agencies, as well as business communities and associations, to give their full support and cooperation for the successful conduct of the listing of establishments in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
Solidum assured the owners of establishments that all data or information furnished to NSO, thru its field personnel, data collectors or interviewers, will be held “strictly confidential” as provided for by law. /MP
