Boracay Cops Nab 2 Suspects In Drug Pushing 

A case of violation of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11 of Art. II of RA 9165 was filed against Aquelino Calawag y Ellaga and violation of Sec. 11 and Sec. 26 of Art. II of RA 9165 against Eric Dizon y Guro in the Aklan Regional Trial Court on Friday, April 20.

The inquest cases are the results of the successful buy-bust operations Intelligence Operatives of Boracay Tourist Assistance Center conducted. PSINSP Christopher Prangan led the operation in front of My Fish Spa, Brgy Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan which resulted to the arrest of two (2) suspects.

Police identified the suspects as Aquelino Calawag y Ellaga, male, 29 yrs old, single, Fish Technician of My Fish Spa, native of Lapaz, Tibiao, Antique, and presently staying at D’ Mall de Boracay, Brgy Balabag, Malay, Aklan. Eric Dizon y Guro, male, 40 yrs old, married, jobless, native of Dalahican, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro and presently staying at Sitio Angol, Brgy Manocmanoc, Malay, Aklan.

They were arrested after selling P1,000 worth of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride also known as “Shabu” to a police agent who posted as poseur buyer.

Office director Senior Superintendent Cornelio T Defensor said, confiscated items from the possession and control of Aquelino Calawag are the following; one (1) piece of elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride also known as “Shabu” wrapped in a piece of Palawan Pawnshop Pera Padala Receipt; PhP1,000 cash in different denominations including buybust/marked/subscribed money; one (1) PhP1000 bill bearing serial no. RV029090; two (2) pieces of US$1 bills bearing serial nos. B69217211E and A04645018A; one (1) unit of black Nokia 2690 cellphone EME1:358260/03/004721/9, one (1) unit of black Samsung cellphone Model SGH-C270; one (1) piece brown Crown brand wallet, one (1) piece of My Fish Spa ID under the name of Aquelino Calawag. 

The items recovered in possession and control of Dizon conspiring with Calawag during the buy bust operation are the following; PhP1,200 cash in different denominations; one (1) pc. professional driver’s license with no. N25-08-021063; one (1) piece of Security Guard ID with no. 09-42510; one (1) piece of Bureau of Internal Revenue ID with TIN no. 151-770-408-000; one (1) unit silver/black Nokia 6300 cellphone (IC:6616-RM217); one (1) black Seiko brand wallet, and one (1) pc. Elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “Shabu”. 

One (1) elongated heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “Shabu” recovered from Calawag in exchanged for PhP1,000 cash (buy-bust money) given by the poseur buyer to said suspect.

The confiscated illegal drugs were brought to the crime laboratory for examination. The suspects are now detained at BJMP Rehabilitation Center, Kalibo, Aklan.

Inventory of confiscated items was conducted at Boracay Tourist Assistance Center (BTAC) Office in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by Nobby M. Luces of Panay News and Hon. Dionisio S. Tupas, Brgy. Kagawad member of Brgy. Balabag, Malay, Aklan. 

Operatives of the successful buy bust operation will receive due recognition (Medalya) from the Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 6. /MP
