Kalibo Streets In Disrepair
The 764th Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati Atihan Festival was launched on December 28, 2005 in an elaborate program. It was a grand launching program where it was attended by dignitaries of Aklan and Kalibo. Congressman Joeben T. Miraflores and Governor Carlito S. Marquez expressed their all out support for the success of the festival.
The launching was held in a new renovated Capt. Gil Mijares Bldg., Kalibo. Vice Mayor Nilda B. Tambong with the members of the Kalibo Sangguniang Bayan and the members of the tri-media of Aklan signed the Covenant of Supports with Mayor Rebaldo, Gov. Marquez, Congressman Miraflores and other Aklan VIPs.
However, until this writing, there is no indication to improve the municipal streets of Kalibo, the center of the celebration and religious procession. Regalado street is becoming worst, aggravated by the MKWD diggings. Take note of the picture shown above taken at a portion of Regalado Street. Congressman Miraflores though has pledged to complete the asphalt overlay at C. Laserna Street as soon as the sun shines. /MP
