NAPE Holds Successfully 2014 National Congress

by Nenita Nanit–Zulueta

The National Association of Physical Educators (NAPE) conducted the National Congress and Training on Physical Education, Health, Music, Arts, Dance and Sports for Western Visayas. This was held at Iloilo National High Schol Gymnasium, La Paz, Iloilo City on March 7 to 9, 2014.

Some school administrators, MSEP and MAPEH Teachers, Culture and Arts Coordinator, Coaches and Sports Enthusiasts from different schools of Western Visayas participated in the three-day congress. The Division of Aklan has the most number of delegates. Dr. Adelito T. Ancheta, President and Training Director of the National Association of Physical Educators highly commended and recognized Dr. Jesse M. Gomez, Schools Division Superintendent of Aklan.

Each participant enjoyed and learned a lot from the talented and versatile speakers. The 3-day congress was very fruitful and challenging due to the various activities prepared and implemented by the organizers.

There was a competition during the culmination of Ethnic Classical Dance (Basic Choreography). Each participating group was given a chance to rehearse for about an hour only. The contest proper was done on the first hour of the final day program. Luckily, the Group I won and the group was awarded P2,500 cash prize and a Certificate of Recognition to each member of the group.

As a participant for this year’s congress, I’m very much eager to take part again on this one of a kind convention. I hope more participants could attend to in such educational training, and make the most of it next year especially that the planned venue next year as announced by the NAPE President will be in the Island of Boracay. /MP
