Public Trust?*
*The
recent privilege speech of Hon. Rudson Mayor, member of Sangguniang
Panlalawigan of Aklan is published below. Hon. Mayor has requested Vice Gov.
Gabriel V. Calizo-Quimpo to resign from her position as Vice Governor and
presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan. Did the Vice
Governor betray public trust?

Presiding Officer, my colleagues in this Chamber, Press and Broadcast Media,
Ladies and Gentlemen.

On this principle, I accused
Vice Gov. Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo of betrayal of public trust and urge her to
resign as Vice Governor and Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan
to restore the trust, respect and confidence of the People of Aklan, to the
legislative body of the province, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan.
One may asked, why is Sp
Mayor accusing the Vice Governor of Aklan of betrayal of public trust and urge

Vice Gov. Quimpo was elected
together with SP Mayor under “KUSOG” in the May 2007 Election. Pagpungko ni

Ordinance, representing the Minority Party with Hon. Selwyn C. Ibarreta as
Chairman and Hon. Plaridel M. Morania as Senior Committee Member, daywang ka

sekretarya (Secretary Bandiola) magpangayo it legal opinion sa Department of
Interior and Local Government (DILG) ko tama nga interpretation o aplikasyon ko
provision sa Section 56 ko Local Government Code nga nagahambae nga aksyonan ko
Sanggunian sa sueod it 30 days, pagkabaton it ordinansa o resolution halin sa
mga munisipyo, ay kon indi ma-aksyonan ko Sanggunian sa sueod it 30 days, the
ordinance is presumed consistent with law and valid.

PUBLIC HEARINGS, PERIOD OF DEBATES, AMENDMENTS, ETC. Guinhambae pa sa DILG

construed as either approval or disapproval of the ordinance.

Franchise (MTOP) – Certificate of Public Conveyance for Motorized Tricycle for
Hire and Authorizing the Business Operation Thereof, Repealing Existing Laws

If Vice Gov. Quimpo cannot
be honest with the Members of the Sanguniang Panlalawigan, nga bilang ana eon
nga mga onga, how can she be honest with the people of Aklan?
