THERE IS MONEY IN MILK

Picture shows milking cow with its twin calves.
In the Philippines, the per capita consumption of milk is one drop a day. Almost all fresh milk is fed to infant. The adult who drinks milk take powdered milk. This is one of  the reasons why Filipinos have weak bones and do not grow tall because of the lack of calcuim in the Filipino diet.
Only 5 percent of the milk and other dairy products are produced in the Philippines, while 95 percent of it are imported from abroad. While beef cattle is widely raised in the Philippines, dairy cattle is not given more importance. Our research institutions had not developed high producing dairy cattle breed in the Philippines./MP
