A 29-year drug pusher was arrested by joint elements of the Provincial Intelligence Special Operations Group (PISOG) and the Kalibo Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday morning August 27, 2007 in barangay Estancia–Tigayon boundary, Kalibo.
Police identified the suspect as Jun Jun Santos, of Brgy. Estancia, Kalibo for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
During the raid, PISOG operatives seized from Santos’ hideout, 23 sachets of suspected marijuana, P100 bills marked money and two cell phones. Santos was collared in Brgy. Estancia by virtue of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Sheila Martelino-Cortes.
Chief Insp. Aden Lagradante, group director of the 601st Provincial Mobile Group, said PISOG was reactivated by Senior Supt. Benigno Durana Jr. to intensify their campaign against illegal gambling and drug-related activities.
The raid was conducted following information on the rampant drug trade of Santos, mostly among students in the area.
Santos was detained at the Kalibo PNP lock-up cell. Appropriate charges were filed against him. /MP
