A 17-year old senior student of Bergenfield High School won the most-coveted Miss Teen Philippines USA 2008 sponsored by the Philippine Hearts and Hopes Society, Inc (PHHOSO) in New York City held on August 11.
Lovely Tanglao of Sta. Cruz, Manila bested 11 other candidates in the 4th edition of the beauty and brain contest.
Fifteen year old Jem Karis Fabros of Banga, Aklan is this year’s Miss Teen Philippines Pearl Idol 2008 while 16-year old Ashley Almario of Kalibo, Aklan was declared Ms. Tourism 2008.
First runner up is 16-year old Erica Nadera of Yonkers, New York; Kai Mura Foraker, 14, of Waterbury, Connecticut is the second runner up; May Ann Flores, 15, of New York City, is the third runner up and Nina Sausa Fiske, 16, of Lenox Hill, New York is the fourth runner up.
PHHOSO’s chosen five winners received cash award, a free round trip ticket back to her home country, be an ambassador of charitable acts of her chosen community in the Philippines, a scholarship at a famous New York – base acting/modeling school and the rare opportunity to do modeling stints in New York and other cities in the USA, and the Philippines. /MP
