Will you buy a computer at P249,930 per unit like the one shown at right? Well, the DepEd bought it at this cost. About 53 units of it were distributed in Aklan last May 2007.
In exchange for the sum of P249,930 per unit, DepEd Aklan was given: desktop compatible computer system, processor, motherboard, memory 256 MBDDR, hard disk, floppy disk, CD-Drive, Video Memory, Audio, speaker and form factor. It has a standard 104 – keyboard, colored printer and 500 watts AVR.
Until today, nobody has come out of the DepEd official who made this deal. The cost per unit is as heavy as a use of APC to quell the Trillanes rebellion. /MP
