52 Aklan SMEs Join Kalibo Ati Atihan Product Showcase



Aklan’s Pride. Piña and Abaca Fabrics made into bags, shawls, slippers, dress, fans and cushions. These are some of the products exhibited at the 4th Aklan Product Showcase held in Iloilo City recently.

The opening and blessing of the Kalibo Ati Atihan Showcase 2007 at the Kalibo Town Plaza will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2007.
Some fifty-two (52) exhibitors have signified their interest to join the Kalibo Ati Atihan product Showcase 2007. Seven (7) of them are food processors, nine (9) represent the gifts and houseware group, three (3) come from the furniture industry, eleven (11) are engaged in loomweaving, and twenty–two (22) belong to the garden sector.
The Kalibo Ati Atihan Product Showcase 2007 is one of the highlights of the Kalibo Ati Atihan Festival. This showcase will be opened everyday for business and public viewing for the period 16 January up to 22 January 2007.
The latest designs on woven fabrics and fashion accessories, souvenir and gift items, clay-based products, furniture and furnishings, and labeling designs on processed food including bakery products will be the focus in this showcase.
This marketing event is a joint project of: Municipal Government of Kalibo, Kalibo Ati Atihan Management Board, Provincial Government of Aklan, Department of Trade and Industry–Aklan, Hugod Aklanon Products Association, Inc. and Kalibo Ati-Atihan Tourism Council.
According to DTI – Aklan Provincial Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes, the target sales for this year is nine hundred eight thousand seven hundred ten pesos (P908,710). This is ten (10) percent increase from the previous year’s sales performance of eight hundred twenty six thousand and one hundred pesos (P826,100). /MP mailto:madyaas_pen@yahoo.com
