Aklan PPO Commends
PNP Personnel

The Aklan Police Provincial Office (Aklan PPO) awarded the certificates of commendation to PNP personnel who successfully finished their post graduate studies for calendar year 2007-2008.
The awarding of commendation is part of the Project "Pagdayaw" initiated by the Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director PCSUPT Isagani Rife Cuevas. Project Pagdayaw recognizes the invaluable contribution of the PNP personnel uplifting the image of the PNP organization with their efforts of pursuing personal development by finishing post graduate courses and Bachelor of Laws.
It also includes the recognition of the PNP personnel who have successfully sent all their children to college, whose children have graduated with honors in any course (Elementary, High School, College, Post Graduate Studies) or passed the Bar Examination, Medical Board and other Licensure Examinations.
The awardees who received the commendations last May 5, 2008 at Aklan PPO Provincial Headquarters are Police Inspector Maximo Sumeg-ang, Jr, Officer In-charge of Ibajay Police Station who successfully acquired his Master in Public Administration in Iloilo City, and SPO1 Bernard Ufano, investigator of Numancia Police Station who graduated of Bachelor of Laws in Aklan Catholic College, Kalibo, Aklan.
"Learning is a continuing process" wherein our PNP personnel is continuously doing this which really resulted to the upliftment and high morale in PNP organization, Deputy Provincial Director Police Superintendent Larry Decena said during the activity. (PO1 Nida L Gregas, DPIO-Aklan PPO).

Transformation Torch
Kalibo, Aklan, May 9, 2008 – The Philippine National Police in its earnest desire to have a long term and lasting reforms within the organization gave birth to a symbolic PNP Transformation Torch. On October 1, 2007 during the PNP Change of Command ceremony wherein Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was the guest of Honor and Speaker a symbolic turn-over of the Transformation Torch took place.
In her speech, she remarked that she liked the torch ceremony and encouraged the Chief, PNP, PDG AVELINO I RAZON, JR. to go on and continue the PNP Transformation Program as it aims to improve the quality of police services; strengthen law enforcement capabilities and enhance the welfare and benefits of the PNP personnel and dependents.
One of the major projects under the PNP ITP is the Advocacy Program under Key Result Area: Public Information and Advocacy, aimed to provide mechanisms for winning the Transformation Program through public understanding and support and for public stakeholder information and feedback on the reform process.
The PNP in its advocacy campaign on the Transformation Program, thus, conceptualized the Torch Run: Running the Race Towards Genuine Transformation and Aklan Police Provincial Office as one of the pilot sites of the ITP received the Transformation Torch on May 12, 2008. It commenced with a platoon size run from the Aklan Provincial Capitol site as the assembly area spearheaded by our very own and active Provincial Director PSSUPT BENIGNO B. DURANA, JR. and the contingents from Antique PPO headed by PSSUPT REN DARROCA towards Aklan Police Provincial Office grandstand where the program of the proper turn-over of the symbolic torch transpired.
Representatives from other Public Safety Sectors, Local Government Units (LGU) and other Government Offices, Non Government Organizations (NGO), members of the tri-media were invited to grace the activity .Integrated Transformation Program briefing took place after the program at the APPO Multi-purpose hall with PSSUPT BENIGNO B.
