Numancia, in celebration of its town fiesta in honor of its patron, St. Joseph The Worker featured the crowning of Ms. Ava Joy Villamor of barangay Pusiw in a pageant coronation night. The Search for Miss Numancia 2012 was held on Saturday, April 28 at the Cultural Stage, Poblacion, Numancia, Aklan. After the thorough search, the winner was proclaimed. Ava Joy Villamor was crowned Miss Numancia 2012.
The annual search for Miss Numancia is a much awaited beauty contest showcasing the stunning and sophisticated Numanciahon ladies. It is one of the highlights in the celebration of the town fiesta.
Ms. Ava Joy Villamor bested eight (8) other lovely young ladies and finalists who represented the different barangays of Numancia. Ava Joy also won special awards like Best in Gown, Ms. Photogenic, and Ms. Close Up Smile. 1st Runner Up – Manilyn Laurente, Camanci Norte; and 2nd Runner Up – Celeste Jane Macavinta, Poblacion, Numancia.
In the interview, Villamor was well-applauded in her very convincing answer to the question “What is the relevance of winning the title, Ms. Numancia 2012?” She answered, “…joining a beauty contest is tough. What I’ve made of myself from rehearsal up to this pageant night is my greatest reward. I’m determined to do my best so I can say to myself, Ava, you’re the champion in your own ways....mission accomplished!”
The reigning Miss Numancia 2011, Frendisol Yco of barangay Marianos made her final walk and delivered her farewell message. She endowed the crown to the Miss Numancia 2012.
Numancia Mayor Adolfo M. Iligan, with the cooperation of the Local Gov’t Unit of Numancia and the overwhelming support from the various sponsors, benefactors and guests spearheaded the very successful Miss Numancia 2012 pageant.
Ms. Gaynor Calizo served as the pageant host. /MP
