Reason and Concern

by Ronquillo C. Tolentino

Ahead Of The Hustings

Gauged from April 30, 2012, it shall be five months before the October 1-5, 2012 schedule of filing of certificates of candidacies.  And measured from May 13, 2012, it shall be twelve months before the May 13, 2013 elections.

Little wonder that radios, televisions and newspapers have played up political developments in certain provinces of the country.  And so shall it be until the termination of the May 13, 2013 elections.

In Philippine politics, he who is ahead of the hustings by going around early, have his presence and political intention felt may have an advantage albeit the Filipino electorate may have still to wait for the line-ups from all political parties for the national and local positions before they shall have their final choice, inclusive of those who  made overtures early on of joining the political race.

For quite sometime, I have read about Manny Pacman Pacquiao’s bible teaching.  So suddenly, here comes the boxing icon preaching about the necessity and importance of bible reading and at the same time emphasizing on his reformed life.

The Church really encourages  everyone to read the Scriptures.  It is not a requirement that one has to be a biblical scholar to read the Scriptures.  It is the Church that interprets the Bible.

It is admitted that, quoting the words of a biblical scholar, the Scriptures is not an easy book to understand and comprehend. “It is as diverse as the many authors and many centuries it took to compose it.”

That Catholic Bible Society, by the way, have these reference guide list verses and reference for Scriptures topics, thus :
