NISAA Most Outstanding Alumnus 2012


For the second time ever, Numancia Elementary School, converted into Numancia Integrated School (NIS), Numancia, Aklan envited their thousands of alumni to Alumni Homecoming. The homecoming was held on May 4 – 5. But preparations for the homecoming was a year-long activity.

The homecoming featured the selection and coronation of Alumni King and Queen 2012 and the selection and awarding of the 10 Most Outstanding Alumni.

Moreover, thanks-giving mass was held at Numancia Parish Church, picnic lunch, torch parade  around the Poblacion of Numancia, and election of officers. 

To select the most outstanding alumni, 5 member awards committee was formed headed by Ms. Shirley M. Maypa. Her members are Silveth R. Bacunawa, Cecily Fulgencio, Theda Marie L. Tibulan, and Mabeth Joy M. Bartolome.

On the basis of the 10 points criteria, the committee after a thorough search finally came out with 10 most outstanding NIS Alumni. They are all heavy weight who are: 



(Ret.) Ambassador Emmanuel C. Fernandez
Foreign Service

(Ret.) Ambassador Emmanuel C. Fernandez is a man of honor and prestige. He earned his course in Foreign Service in one of the best colleges in the world: the London School of Economics and Political Science (with Distinction) in 1965.Prior to his entry to London, he graduated elementary at Numancia Elementary School (1941), graduated high school as Valedictorian in Madyaas Institute (1947) and has studied in the University in the Philippines. His outstanding government services and designations in the Department of Foreign Affairs, though retired, is still the most sought after as Counselor and Special Assistant to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (1976) to present.


DR. Reinalda Magdaluyo
Education

The extent of Dr. Reinalda Enero Ibabao Magdaluyo’s sacrifices and determination in making dreams real are instrumental in bringing honors and recognition to Numancia and the province of Aklan. There is no need mentioning of her detailed and long list of achievements, leadership commendations, recognition, outstanding and exemplary awards, for she could not have retired as Director III of the Department of Education (DepEd) Region VI, without sweat. We salute you, Nanay Rening!


Dr. Jesse Gomez
Education

Dr. Jesse Gomez is a chemical engineer by profession and a teacher by vocation. He has eight (8) eligibilities in the field of engineering, academe, civil service and accredited broadcaster. He ranked 2nd nationwide in the Management Aptitude Test Battery given by the Career Executive Service Board among the 1,500 examinees composed of principals, supervisors and college deans. He is also a respected composer, choir trainer, arranger, conductor and a vocal coach for both pop and classical singers.  

He is the incumbent Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd, Division of Aklan. 



Vice Mayor Evangeline M. Ibabao
Public Service

In spite being busy as a political figure, Vice Mayor Evangeline M. Ibabao maintains her charisma serving the community and her church as lay minister of the Hand Maid of the Lord and the Couples for Christ. Her involvement with civic society is also stretched as Assistant Board of Directors with Drugstore Owner’s Association of the Philippines Aklan Chapter.

Lara Arac-Salaver 
Architecture

Lara Arac-Salaver is an architect by profession and an active businesswoman by vocation. She also has an outstanding record in socio-civic organizations with the Kiwanis International Boracay Chapter, Boracay Foundation, Inc., and the United Architect of the Philippines which is in  line of her profession. Her business organi-zations and ownerships include the A-Rock Resort, Inc.; Kingfisher’s Farm and LA Design and Consultancy. Presently, she is the Municipal Health Officer of the Municipality of Malay, Aklan, Philippines.



FERNANDEZ-LIM
Medicine

Grace’s dedication and devotion to the field of medicine, together with her husband, Dr. Guido N.Lim, brought to the creation of their 2nd own community hospital – the Lim Community hospital in Jagna, Bohol (1st is Dr. Lim’s Clinic and Hospital in Valencia, Bohol). She was awarded Outstanding Alumnus of Madyaas Institute (2011) where she graduated Valedictorian, Class 1958. She is personally involved as the Administrator-Finance of their hospital. She is an active socio-civic leader with Bohol Medical Society and the Philippine Academy of Family Physician, Bohol Chapter.


ESCALONA
Education

Mrs. Escalona has a diploma in Masters of Arts in Educaiton. She is a teacher by heart and soul (retired Principal II of then Numancia Elementary School). Her leadership skills helped strengthen and uplift moral and spiritual values of those who belong to Christian organizations. She is continually involved in community progress by creating a socio-economic cooperative.  

JOFEL IBABAO-ISIDRO
Medicine

He excels in the field of medicine having earned his Doctor of Medicine from West Visayas State University in 1995 and a successful residency training in General Surgery from 2001 – 2007 with the WVSU Medical Center, and his Fellowship in Thoracic and Cardio-vascular Surgery from the Lung Center of the Philippines, Quezon City from 2003-2006. He now maintains his affiliations as visiting consultant to numerous and prestigious hospitals in the islands of Panay and Negros. 

CICIRO A. REYES
   Education

Dr. Ciciro Reyes has more than 25 years of hard work experience in the field of education and research. He is a respected man known for his contribution to child development; cross-cultural, language, academic development; and adult education. His deter-mination to earn many undergraduate units and certificates in math courses, special education, American Government and Voice, Grant Writing, Pronun-ciation, Conversation and Piano while abroad brought him to the heights only Eagles could reach.  

TOMMY F. DE JUSTO
Government Service

He is a seasoned government employee in the field of municipal development. He earned his numerous recognitions for his active involvement in youth development. He received many awards for his outstanding commit-ment to his various responsibilities as DILG Director.

On Jan. 19, 2009, he retired as Chief, Project Development Management Unit, DILG, Region XII, Koronadal City. He is now active and visible in serving God and the community.
