Tangalan Soil Diggers Find Vintage Bomb


A suspected vintage bomb was recovered at Brgy.Dapdap, Tangalan, Aklan, Thursday morning, May 3.

Tangalan police reported, Hon. Pedro Ureta Y Magnabihon, a 72 year-old, barangay chairman and resident of Brgy.Dapdap, Tangalan, Aklan brought and turned-over to the police station one (1) alleged vintage bomb on Friday, May 4.

Investigation shows that at about 7:00 in the morning of May 3, while Rolly Sapa and Stephen Tayco were digging soil for septic tank purposes near the house of Jonathan Ureta at said brgy., they found a hard object believed to be a vintage bomb. This prompted them to call the attention of Brgy. Captain Pedro Ureta. After which, they turned over the suspected bomb to the Tangalan Police Station. 

The said suspected vintage bomb was properly turned over by Tangalan police to SPO3 Vengie Repedro of Explosive Ordinance Officer, Aklan PPO for proper disposition. (by PO2 Nida L. Gregas) /MP
