Aklan PNP Holds Media Relation Workshop

The Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) held a PNP Media Relation Workshop geared to develop skills, better understanding and grasp the responsibilities of every police officers in public information job.

The seminar workshop was held in the Multi Purpose Hall of APPO, Buswang New, Kalibo on August 28. 

It was attended by participants who came from the different police stations in Aklan. They are designated Public Information officers and investigators in their respective units.
P03 Nida Gregas of the Aklan PNP served as instructor and resource person. She discussed with the participants the various techniques in the provision of truthful and necessary information to the public.

She also gave some guidelines how to deal with other sectors of society especially the members of the media.

Another competent speaker was Mrs. Lyneth Relator Mendoza, program director, GMA – DYRU, Kalibo, Aklan. She discussed various strategies on how to deal with the media entities. She also provided the participants with additional techniques in the release of reliable information to the public.

Sr. Supt. Pedrito Escarilla, in his message, talked about the importance of the seminar workshop in the promotion and improvement of proper and mutual understanding between the police organization and the media entities. 

According to Escarilla, the seminar workshop is one opportune time to strengthen favorable relation between the police organization and the media entities to enable them to provide timely and correct information to the public. He believes that with the assistance of all media entities, desirable and development communication is highly possible. /MP
