THE GOOD LIFE

TO MY JOURNEY
By: Megs S. Lunn

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”  - Henry Miller

Long weekends have more advantages to many. They can see family and friends, go out of town and enjoy each other’s company. More so for the children, they love wrestling around with their siblings, cousins and friends, too. For me, it’s time to relax and get out from my daily routine and get re-energize, take time to be quiet, to read, to meditate and most of all, to count all my blessings.

To others, long weekends are not good for business. But even businessmen need rest to relax and think of new initiative, new ventures or maybe more improvement and prospects for the business. They most need to be with their family, enjoy each other with the pleasure of each other’s presence. How about it? Just by being there, no matter how simple, is more than what we actually need. We just need each other.

To my friends who continually enjoy the journey with me, it is an awesome feeling that your presence is appreciated. Friends though I don’t see often but mostly are friends who stay the longer and most loyal to me.

I definitely would want to travel more. To travel with friends who best enjoy the spontaneity, the healthy food stuff, friends who just love doing things because they want to experience it and get over with fear on something like heights, and depth. There is no best feeling than traveling with the best companion and sharing the joy with my closest friends. The long vacation reveals much interesting habits, frustrations, beliefs, simple pleasures and dreams, and so much more. I love traveling with friends who do not care taking selfies and who are just the way they are, friends without inhibitions, and pretentions. I love friends who inspire and appreciate others. Notwithstanding friends who bring home the whole shopping mall, who can say we ‘must-try’ this and that and conquer the rest.

Who would want to travel with friends who have many hang-ups in life? Who do you want to travel with? I wish to travel with friends who have the same appreciation for travel, appreciation of arts and culture, the food, people and the community. It is a revitalizing feeling afterwards to go home with more memories and lessons. It’s like stepping into the new realm of life. Traveling is invigorating, inspiring, energizing. It is the appreciation of life and God’s creation.

Are you challenged? Just pick up your back pack and travel light. Travel light with your bag and with your heart. It counts when you travel that everything is at peace in and out. It means, you also have to prepare your emotions and especially your health. Travel with a mind which is ready to give an extra push of things you wanted to try and experience. The chance to just be you and the chance to bring home one story or two.

Go on, when was the last time you have looked at your travel pictures and say, “Hey, I’d like to do this again.” As I always say, “It is not about the destination, it’s more of the journey” that I should enjoy traveling. Seize life! /MP
