Aklan Presents Best Products


Abaca, the strongest natural fiber of the world is produced in the rolling lands of Aklan is used for the manufacture of several wooven products.

The Aklan Product Showcase (APS), which brings and presents Aklan’s best products to the public and our target markets, will come to fore this November 10-16 at The Event Center, SM City, Iloilo. This activity is now on its 6th year. These products reflect the Aklanon producers’ ingenuity and craftsmanship using indigenous materials available in the province such as: piña, abaca and raffia fibers of best quality; nito and agzam vines, tayok-tayok, sea grass and lampakanay, among others.
The APS is one avenue for Aklanon producers to display and sell their best products. Aklan takes pride particularly of its wovens – cloths, fashion apparels/accessories; and processed foods.
This year’s showcase will highlight products of twenty-eight (28) micro, small and medium entrepreneurs from the following sectors: Loom-weaving – 6; gifts and Houseware – 10; Food Processing/Bakery Sector – 7; Furniture and Furnishing Sector – 2; Cutflower Sector – 3.
The Department of Trade and Industry – Aklan organizes this annual activity in coordination with the Hugod Aklanon producers Association, Inc. and the Provincial Government of Aklan. /MP
