The annual Kalibo Ati-Atihan Product Showcase will be held on 12-18 January 2010. The activity is part of the 798th Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Festival organized by the Department of Trade and Industry – Aklan and the Hugod Aklanon Producers Association, Inc. for the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Management Board (KAMB) of the Municipal Government of Kalibo. It will be held at the Pastrana Park, Kalibo.
The 2010 Showcase will open on 12 January at 2:00 in the afternoon. It will highlight the newly developed indigenous abaca, piña, and raffia cloths and souvenir items; gifts, housewares, and furnishing; and processed foods. Some 37 Aklanon MSMEs will join the showcase this year.
This yearly marketing event is becoming a major feature of the Kalibo Ati-Atihan festival celebration to promote Aklan’s unique and competitive local products.
For 2010, Kalibo Ati-Atihan Product Showcase target sales is P1.15 million, a 10 percent increase over last year’s P1.04 million. /MP
