Elected Tibyog Officials Take Oath

In a mass oath taking ceremonies, the re-elected and elected officials belonging to Tibyog and United Leadership Coalition took their oath of office before Hon. Marietta J. Homena-Valencia, Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court, Kalibo, Aklan.

The oath taking ceremonies followed after the thanksgiving mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ulysses I. Dalida, Administrator of the Diocese of Kalibo. The mass oath taking ceremonies was held in the morning of Friday, June 25 at the ABL Memorial Sports Complex, Capitol Grounds, Kalibo.

The officials under the leadership of Gov. Carlito S. Marquez and Cong. Florencio T. Miraflores, the members of their respective families, friends and guests were welcomed by Hon. Jean O. Rodriguez, re-elected member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Eastern).
Those who took their oath of office first were the members of the Sangguniang Bayan from 17 towns who belong to Tibyog, the vice mayors followed and then the mayors.
After the officials from the municipal level, Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo gave her message. The members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan then were sworn to office, followed by Vice Governor Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo, Gov. Carlito S. Marquez, Congressman Florencio T. Miraflores, and finally Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. of the "Kasangga" Party List representative.

In his inaugural speech, Gov. Marquez reviewed his accomplishments for the last six years and stressed what is his program of government in the next three years. He thanked the people of Aklan for their votes, trust and confidence and for their cooperation in his administration.

Cong. Miraflores assured the people of Aklan of his support for Aklan’s development. He cited his approaches to follow so that he can bring projects to Aklan. He pointed to his idea of being allies with other political parties such as the majority in order not to be left out. He thanked the Aklanons for electing him as Mayor of Ibajay, three term provincial governor and until his third term as congressman.

Miraflores especially acknowledged the trust and confidence bestowed to his family by voting his son as member (Western) of the SP, by voting his wife Mayor of Ibajay for another term and by voting his first cousin Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr., congressman under the Ang Kasangga Party List.

On his part, Cong. Haresco also thanked all Aklanons for voting Kasangga Party List where he is the first nominee. He announced his projects like in the provision of micro financing to start and operate small business. Haresco also announced the availability of 10 multicabs and ambulances for Aklan. /MP
