Congressman Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. of Kasangga Party List Awarded P1.25 million to five (5) transport associations of Aklan and one religious group.
In a simple award ceremonies held in the Conference Room, Capitol, Kalibo, Aklan, Cong. Haresco assisted by Gov. Carlito S. Marquez distributed six checks to 1. POKATODA, Inc., Kalibo – P250,000 represented by Danny N. Nalangan, 2. NWHODA, Inc., New Washington – P150,000 represented by Elvereto P. Lachica, 3. KANWAFILCABODA, Inc. – P250,000 represented by Eufrocino V. Ignabio, Jr., 4. IBATODA, Inc., Ibajay, Aklan – P250,000 represented by Eduardo V. Maglunob, and 5. Nabas Transport Association – P250,000 represented by Joseph Pastor.
The money is lent for a two year term at six (6) percent interest. It came from the nine (9) months salary as Congressman at P61,000 per month of Cong. Haresco. The balance came from his (Haresco’s) personal fund.
POKATODA, Inc. will use the money on their spare parts trading and micro-relending. The other for transport associations will use the money for micro-relending.
The Knights of Columbus represented by Mr. Jose Ricafuente and Ret. Gen. Frederick Romero was granted P100,000 for the repair of the Knights of Columbus Bldg. in the St. John the Baptist Cathedral Compound, Kalibo, Aklan. /MP
