Kapihan Sa Aklan Features Miriam Quiambao

Former Beauty Queen and TV host celebrity Miriam R. Quiambao is the special guest of honor and resource person during the April 2, 2011 edition of the Kapihan sa Aklan to be held at the Smoke Hauz Resto and Bar, Kalibo.

Quiambao is Abante Aklan’s special guest on Saturday evening, April 2 at the Sampaguita Gardens and Resort, New Washington, Aklan at the fundraising program dubbed as "A Night of Hope" organized by Abante Aklan, a non-government organization.

Quiambao arrives at the Kalibo International Airport at noontime, Saturday. She proceeds to the Kapihan sa Aklan venue at the Smoke Hauz Resto and Bar for interaction/press conference with the local mediamen.

Abante Aklan Incorporated is an assisted project of the World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. which for 14 years had embraced Aklan, particularly in six (6) Municipalities, as its area of operation engaging and assisting in health development and education infrastructures and services needed by the communities in Aklan.

Quiambao is one among the celebrities who has sponsored children in their education, together with several child advocate celebrities.

Mr. Odon S. Bandiola, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aklan Press Club, Inc. and host of the weekly Kapihan, said the organizers of the Kapihan Sa Aklan has decided to move the time schedule of the Kapihan from the usual 8:00 to 11:00 A.M. timeslot to 12 o’clock noon to 2 o’clock in the afternoon to accommodate Quiambao.

Broadcaster Beauty Queen Quaimbao is the country’s representative to the 1999 Ms. Universe pageant held in Trinidad and Tobago. She landed 1st Runner-up. After her Ms. Universe triumphant stint, she became a celebrity TV host and movie actress.

Quaimbao has hosted and co-hosted TV shows like QTV11’s "The Beat" and "Dahil Sa Iyong Paglisan", and in GMA Network, Inc. "100% Pinoy", "Palaban", "Pinoy Meets World", "All About You", "Extra Challenge", "Extra-Extra", and "Unang Hirit". /MP
