Aklan PNP Nabs Norwegian National For Abduction

A 44-year old Norwegian national who was accused for abduction of underage under the Norwegian Penal Code was arrested by joint police operations. The intensified intelligence, monitoring and vigorous participation of different law enforcement agencies, the Aklan Police Provincial Office, Police Regional Office 6 Women and Children Protection Desk, INTERPOL, DWSD Kalibo and active support of the community in Brgy. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan resulted to the arrest on Tuesday morning, Sept. 27.

Arrested is the mother of a 15 year-old girl who was reported missing in Norway.

The arrest was made through Warrant of Arrest issued on August 23, 2011 by Nordmore District Court, Norway thru National Central Bureau, Interpol Manila and a memorandum from police superintendent Ma. Cecilia R Detablan, Chief, Regional Women and Children Protection Desk of the Police Regional Office 6, Camp Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Iloilo City.

Aklan PPO director police senior superintendent Cornelio T Defensor reported that prior to the successful operation, a team was organized for final briefing at the office of Aklan Provincial Women and Children Protection Desk office regarding the arrest of the suspect.

After intelligence operatives confirmed the presence of the accused and her daughter inside their house located at Brgy. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan, the team led by deputy provincial director for operations police superintendent John Lemwel Villafranca with COL. Francisco C Dalawampu (Ret), Chief, PCTC INTERPOL, VFO to serve the Warrant of Arrest to the accused in the presence of Brgy. Captain Rey Tolentino and Brgy. Council Ronce Reyes, of Brgy. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan was dispatched immediately.

After the arrest, the accused and her daughter were brought to Aklan Provincial Women and Children Protection Desk office for proper disposition. The arrest procedures were strictly observed such as finger printing specimen, mug shots and medical examination.

Presently, the accused and her 15 year old daughter both Norwegian Nationals are under the custody of this police office while waiting for the arrival of representatives from Norway Embassy in Manila for a formal physical/official turn-over.
