DPWH Dismantles
Misleading Road Signs

Madyaas Pen sincerely appreciates and thanks OIC-District Engr. Noel L. Fuentebella of the Department of Public Works and Highways, Kalibo, Aklan for his immediate actions on my suggestion to institute corrections on two “misleading” road signs. The two road signs were located along the highway in Laguinbanua East, Numancia and Linabuan Norte, Kalibo.

My letter was delivered to Engr. Fuentebella’s office in Kalibo on July 31, 2014. On Tuesday, August 5, the two signage in the said places were dismantled and removed. I thank you Engr. Fuentebella and staff members for the positive action on my suggestion.

Below is the response of Engr. Fuentebella to my letter:

“Sir:
This pertains to your letter dated July 31, 2014 which was received by this office dated August 1, 2014 furnishing us a picture of misleading road sign located at Brgy. Laguinbanua East, Numancia, Aklan and informing us of another misleading road sign located near the gate of a school in Brgy. Linabuan Norte, Kalibo, Aklan.
Please be informed that upon ocular inspection/verification, the said misleading road signs were installed by Robinsons Place without securing proper permit from this office. As such, we have already removed the same and kept it for safekeeping to avoid confusions to the travelling public (see attached pictures).
We thank you for your support and vigilance in the interest of public service.

Very truly yours,
(Sgd.) NOEL L. FUENTEBELLA
OIC-District Engineer”
