Cub Scouts Hold Kawan Festival

Some 1,078 cub scout members from Aklan attended what was considered the biggest gathering of cub scouts in Aklan just recently at the Kalibo Elementary School II.
Speaking before the cub scouts delegates, Vice Governor Ronquillo C. Tolentino, Aklan BSP council chairman, urged the cub scouts to remember the Vision – Mission of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
Tolentino emphasized "the scouting vision to be the leading provider of progressive outdoor based on non-formal education committed to develop morally straight, disciplined, concerned, self-reliant citizens in the best tradition of World Scouting and the mission to inculcate in our Scouts and Scouters love of God, country and fellowmen, to prepare the youth for responsible leadership and to contribute to nation – building according to the ideals, principles and program of Scouting".
Scouting remains vibrant and active in Aklan. This present in bold relief the Aklanons’ firm commitment and dedication to the ideals of Scouting, Tolentino pointed out.
Rightly has it been said the Scouting Movement possesses the most well-rounded education-training among the various programs in existence today. Virtually, any subject can come under the aegis of Scouting. It cannot be gainsaid that the Scouting potential for complementing formal education cannot be exaggerated", Tolentino added. /MP
