Scout Niño M. Sacapaño was crowned "Master Scout 2009" in coronation ceremonies held last month in Magsaysay Park, Kalibo, Aklan.
With Master Scout Niño are the members of his kingdom. They are Scout Boy John V. Rebase, the Prince of Hope from Batan District; Scout Resty S. Cobrador – Prince of Loyalty from Banga District; Scout Lerven John L. Flores – Prince of Honesty from Nabas District; Scout Christian Benedict D. Esto – Prince of Peace from Libacao District; Scout Cris Geo C. Advincula – Prince of Love from Kalibo II District, and Scout Keven Clay D. Tiagan – Prince of Integrity from Buruanga District.
Master Scout 2009 Niño is the son of Mr. Victor C. Sacapaño and Ms. Angelie M. Sacapaño. Niño is studying in Balabag Elem. School, Balabag, Malay, Aklan which is headed by Mrs. Glenda N. Sacapaño, Ms. Sherwin S. Maming is their Kawan leader while the District Scouting Commissioner is Ms. Arlene Regalado, and Ms. Betsyros S. Bautista is the District Field Scouting Commissioner.
The coronation of Master Scout is an annual activity of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. This year’s guest speaker is Hon. Jose S. Yap – Aklan Sangguniang Panlalawigan member and former Mayor of Malay. Yap, in his speech, expounded on the importance of joining and participating in the activities of the Boy scouts. He underscored the importance of Boy scouts in leadership training for young boys as future leaders of the community and country.
Yap who was introduced by Mr. Democrito T. Barrientos, Principal II, Malay District led in the coronation of the Master Scout 2009, Niño M. Sacapaño.
Atty. Ronquillo C. Tolentino, Chairman, BSP, Aklan Council welcomed the participants and guests.
Ms. Leila P. Leonida – Pamatian, BSP Aklan Council Scout Executive thanked all guests and scouts for their cooperation. /MP
