Lunch over; there will be a walking tour at Pastrana Park, Kalibo Cathedral, Museo It Akean Trade & Exhibits.

Those who will join the tour will savor merry making and dancing at the Kalibo Ati-Atihan this January 2011. Considered as the "Mother of all Festivals", Kalibo Ati-Atihan will allow the guests to experience the history/culture of Aklanon which has drawn the masses to the streets of Kalibo during the weeklong festival.

Experience the "Sadsad" (street dance), a century old tradition believed to commemorate the successful pact between the native Aetas and the Bornean datus who landed in Panay. The coming of the Spaniards revolutionarized the tradition with the introduction of the Sto. Niño.

Guests are prepared to smear themselves with paint or soot and to dance to the beat of the drums shouting in unison, "Viva! kay Senior Santo Niño!!"

Kalibo is the home of the oldest edifice of catholic worship in the Province of Aklan such as the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. One will also experience the unique age-old faith healing rule of the miraculous Sto. Niño (Holy Child) called "paeapak".

Nearby the Kalibo Cathedral is the "Museo It Akean" (Aklan Museum). This houses the famous Aklanon art works ranging from poetry to crafts, photography, and paintings. Fronting the cathedral is Pastrana Park where most of the festival activities are held. /MP
