Marina: Ro-Ro Vessels In WV Are Sea Worthy

As part of the nationwide inspection of roll-on-roll-off vessels (RoRo), the Maritime Regional Office 6, Iloilo City has conducted inspections on the 15 RoRo vessels that dock in the ports of Western Visayas, it reported. All the 15 RoRo vessels are docking in the ports of Caticlan, Malay, Aklan; Guimaras province; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Marina Regional Dir. Mary Armi Arcilla said based on their inspections, such RoRo vessels are all found to be sea worthy.

"They are sea worthy and so far, have no violations against maritime laws," she said.
Arcilla is constantly encouraging the manage-ment of RoRo vessels to make sure that their vessels always comply with maritime safety standard, she claimed. (PNA)/MP
