Photo above shows damage 10-wheeler cargo truck, a van and a jeepney (covered by the van) causing undetermined amount of damages, disturbed traffic, and shocked several people. The incident happened at about 11:00 in the morning of Tuesday, June 28 on the Osmeña Ave. in front of ABL Sports Complex, Estancia, Kalibo.
Looking at the position of the vehicles involved in the accident, it appears that the truck suddenly swerved to his left blocking the right of way of the van heading toward Banga. Accidents like this could not have happened if the drivers are skillful in driving, emotionally mature, inculcated with road courtesy and the vehicles they are driving are in perfect running and operating conditions.
Observation reveals vehicular accidents are increasing daily because of reckless driving, poor road condition, absence of proper road markings and signages and the increasing number of vehicles not only in Kalibo but the whole Aklan. /MP
