SP AKLAN  CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING ON IRRIGATION, HEALTH AND SANITATION

For the week was, August 6 - 7, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan conducted two public hearings. Held in the morning of Tuesday, Aug 6 is the proposed ordinance “Health and Sanitation Code of the Province of Aklan”. This was presided by its author, Hon. Nelson D. Santamaria.

The public hearing was held in the SP Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Kalibo, attended by all concerned persons such as the representatives of the Provincial Health Office, Department of Health, sanitary inspectors, funerals homes, food retailers, hotel and restaurants, ambulant vendors, airlines, and Aklan media.

All those present welcomed the proposed ordinance and recommended its approval as soon as possible. They recommended some deletions and recommendations that will improve further the proposed ordinance.

Another proposed ordinance subjected to a public hearing is  “An  Ordinance Providing Basic Policies, Rules and Regulation to Ensure the Continued and Efficient Operation of Irrigation Services in the Province of Aklan ” The hearing was held in the morning of Friday, August 7, at the SP Session Hall, Capitol, Kalibo, Aklan, presided by its author, Hon. Emmanuel Soviet Russia A. Dela Cruz.

 After the Opening Statements of Vice Gov. Gabrielle V. Calizo-Quimpo and the Brief Statement of its sponsor, Hon. E. S. Dela Cruz, those invited and attended were requested to give their position statements, either in favor or against the proposed ordinance. This was followed by the giving of critical analysis, and recommendations to improve the proposed Ordinance.

Those who attended the public hearing were representatives of irrigation associations, NIA, Office of Provincial Agriculturist, Liga Ng Mga Brangay, Committee on Food and Agriculture from municipal LGUs, and Aklan Media.

On the whole, all those present indorsed the said proposed Ordinances with their respective recommendations in various provisions./MP
