Schools To Teach History of Kalibo

The History of Kalibo is one of the topics discussed in a seminar "Enhancing Makabayan Teaching Practices". The seminar was held last month at APSTA Center, Kalibo. It encouraged participants who came from school districts of Aklan to compile local history in their respective towns. The seminar was led by Ms. Corazon G. Beluso, Education Supervisor in Social Studies, DepEd, Aklan.
The holding of the said seminar according to Mr. Terence T. Toriano is the result of a Kalibo Sangguniang Bayan Resolution which urged the DepEd to integrate in the basic education curriculum for elementary and secondary schools the history, culture and traditions of the town of Kalibo, Aklan.
