PNRC Honors Blood Galloners


Vice Governor Ronquillo C. Tolentino was the guest speaker during the "Recognition Ceremony For Blood Galloners/Supporters and International Humanitarian Law" program. In his inspirational message, Tolentino challenged his audience to respect human rights. "In intensified armed conflicts, we can always see the unavoidable collateral damage", stressed Tolentino.
During the program which was held on August 8 at the Philippine National Red Cross Headquarters, Kalibo, Aklan, some seven (7) blood Galloners were honored for donating to the Red Cross gallons of their blood. They were awarded bronze medals and certificates. They are: 1. Grelino Pabelico – 14,250 cc of Estancia, 2. Larry Torres – 11,250 cc of Old Buswang, 3. Lydwin Cortes – 9,900 cc of Batan, 4. Lord Zandrix P. Pelayo – 5,400 cc of New Buswang, 5. Ambito A. Constantino – 4,500 cc of Roxas Ave. Ext., Kalibo, 6. Reynando C. Verangel – 4,500 cc of Bakhaw Sur, Kalibo, and 7. John Resbie T. Belinario – 4,500 cc of Linabuan Norte, Kalibo.
Mr. Ernesto F. Melgarejo, Secretary, PNRC, Aklan Chapter discussed the International Humanitarian Law. Dr. Elepoldo P. Magpusao, chairman Blood Services welcomed the guests and visitors, while Ms. Arcely P. Pelayo recognized the participants. The program ended with the closing statement of Dr. Ambrosio R.
