The second gold in boxing won by Joan Tipon over his Korean opponent placed the Philippines No. 17 among the 45 countries now participating in the Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.
Earlier Violito Payla won the second gold also in boxing while the first gold was won by Antonio Gabeca in billiards’ 9 – ball event Rono Sornito Folayon won the 4th gold in Hanshow by defeating his Vietnamese opponent 2 - 0 score . The Philippines has now a total of 19 medals, 4 of which are gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze.
