NFA Sells Sugar In MM Only
The National Food Authority began selling refined sugar at P48 per kg to some market-based outlets such as the Institutionalized Bigasan sa Palengke (IBSP) being operated by the federation of NFA accredited rice retailers in Metro Manila to help stabilize the commodity’s price.

To speed up distribution, NFA administrator Jessup P. Navarro said the agency is repacking into one kilogram bag each. Some 800 bags of 50 kilogram sugar were initially released by the Sugar Regulatory Admi-nistration to the NFA.

The 800 bags from SRA are being allocated to several public markets under NFA’s operational jurisdiction depending on the number of existing IBSP in the area.

While waiting for the market price of sugar to stabilize, Navarro informed sale of the low-priced sugar will be limited to only one kilogram per consumer.

While NFA sells sugar at reduced price, it covers only Metro Manila (MM). How about in the provinces and cities? Metro Manila is not the Philippines. What NFA does in MM must be done all over the Philippines. Selling sugar at reduced price in selected area, NFA is playing favorites.

State of the Province Address

Reading the State of the Province Address (SOPA) of Aklan Governor Carlito S. Marquez brings me to the feeling of grandeur. I am assured that at last, Aklanons are in the realization of a best human life. With the SOPA, I believe Aklanons now live with the feeling of comfort. They have ample amount of money to spend for food, shelter, health, education, and recreation.

On the other hand, I also think if Gov. Marquez will dream of validating the ultimate results of the multi million pesos being spent for projects designed for the good of the target recipients.

I concur with giving lavish praises addressed to the deserving heads of offices and their staff members. The appreciation and thanks to them are highly motivating. On the other hand, those praises undeserved are demotivating.

Gibo Infomercial

Presidential Candidate Gibo Teodoro’s TV infomercial tells he is a man who is too far away from the average Filipino, Filipino of modest means.

Watch Gibo walk to his plane, entered it. He started the engine, invited his countrymen to come inside with him. The plane is closed and he flies. He is alone in his plane as it gains altitude.

The infomercial is a display of hoarded wealth, demonstrating Gibo has the most resources while the Filipino masses are living in life deprivation.

The infomercial demonstrates Gibo is far away from the ordinary people. Will he share his wealth? Empathize with the poorest of the poor? Like Gandhi, will Gibo advocate no property ownership? Will he live a frugal life, the lifestyle of a Filipino of average means, and not display extreme wealth? /MP
