LGU Kalibo Buys New Heavy Machines for Solid Waste Management


Kalibo’s Solid Waste Management program will now be more efficient with the arrival of a Motor Grader, Bulldozer, Backhoe and a Mini Dump Truck last week. Mayor Raymar Rebaldo, SB Member Greg Malapad, Jr., Mun. Gen. Services Officer Editha De Lemos, COA-Kalibo Auditor Ellen Fernandez, Private Secretary II Randy Rebaldo, and general services employees inspected the machineries.

Rev. Fr. Ulyses Dalida, the young Diocesan Administrator (Diocese of Kalibo has no Bishop yet), officiated the blessing of the heavy machineries at the side of Mabini Street despite rain showers. The abovementioned officials and employees including four reporters from RMN DYKR Radyo Agong and from CBIS DYYM Ka-Tribu Radyo witnessed the blessing.

The heavy machineries will be used on Solid Waste Management Program including projects in the Barangays. It will first be utilized, however, on the rehabilitation of the Municipal Dump Site in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Code of Kalibo and in compliance with the provisions in the Solid Waste Management Act of the Philippines.

A 4x2 Dump Truck is scheduled for delivery, which with other heavy machineries acquired cost a total of 21 million pesos loaned from Land Bank of the Philippines. (By Terence Toriano)/MP
