In a press conference held at the lavish Nadal Castle Hotel and Resturant, Laguinbanua West, Numancia, Aklan, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan’s (KBL) Vice Presidential candidate Jay Sonza, faced Aklan’s media group composed of reporters from print, radio and television at around 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon in the hope of bringing further into the light his well crafted HOPE agenda platform.

HOPE which stands for Honest Governance, Opportunity for all and privilege for none, Peace, productivity and prosperity and Education and environment protection for sustainable development sums up the core of Sonza’s plans once he is given the chance to become the country’s President-in-waiting.

The presscon turned out to be an informative meeting as the members of the press were given the chance to take turns in asking the Vice Presidential hopeful questions that may further cement his status as a strong candidate for the Vice Presidency.

Sonza Gets The Nod of Aklan

As fruitful as the gathering was, Sonza is hoping that through this assembly, more Aklanons will have the chance of knowing his action plan for the people and the country.

The supporters of Jay Sonza believe last week in Aklan, KBL Vice Presidential bet Jay Sonza would no doubt be the clear winner in the VP race. His sortie in the province, defined by the warm welcome and the eagerness of the residence to chat and press hands with him gave away the clue on who the people’s choice here is for the second highest seat in the country come May 10, 2010.

Sonza, whose family hails from Sta. Barbara, Iloilo must be the reason for such reception as the Illonggos are known to always be united in rallying behind a candidate that they consider as their own.

"How can you let these people who are rallying behind my candidacy down when most of them would tell me that they believe in my ability to deliver the country out of the hardship that they have been experiencing for two and a half decade now? This is overwhelming," Sonza quipped.

The VP candidate’s caravan was accompanied by hordes of supporters primarily composed of those in the C, D and E social classes including the youth group who promised to lend a hand in disseminating the HOPE Agenda – Sonza’s platform.

KAPATODA, the biggest group of tricycle drivers and operators in Kalibo headed by their President, Danny Magallanes did not waste the opportunity of being counted in, in the more than one kilometer motorcade – a first in Kalibo.

In an interview, Magallanes said that they are behind Sonza because they saw the broadcast icon’s sincerity and his capability of leading the Filipinos to be great once more in the eye of the world. /MP
